We had another award winning sunset last evening...I stepped outside in my "uniform" to take these pictures....beautiful!!
This next picture I took looking East on the back side of our camper and over the mountains...
...and here I was looking more Northeast....again behind us and opposite the actual sunset....
...and last but not least, I just shot right over my head and into the clouds in the Southwest sky...the whole sky was like a painting...
...I tried to pick the best one or two photos, but couldn't decide so you got 'em all!!
This morning was warmer than yesterday, and we had bought some homemade pork sausage at the store in town....time for my chef to cook outside!!
He also scrambled up some eggs and I made the toast....I love breakfast outside!! We took our walk after breakfast and I changed into shorts and T-shirt, knowing full well the sun was getting warm.. We walked down by the casino again..I was hoping to see burros, but of course I did not! I did get a great shot of this thorny tree..
...How about those nasty thorns!! Everything around here has either thorns, spikes, stickers, burrs, teeth or claws!!
I don't know if I mentioned that the Tohono O'Odohm Nation EMS has their headquarters here...or one of them..They have a steel frame modular building, but the ambulance sits outside of it...
There were 3 EMS there today. I don't think they are here full time, but just during the day. We finished our walk and I figured it was almost time to get into a new book while sitting in the sun. I hear it is snowing like heck back in Illinois....Been there...done that..no thanks! While I was sunning, I tried to get a picture of one of the little birds that frequents our feeders....He looks somewhat like a Purple Finch, which we have at home in the summer..Maybe they are "snowbirds" like us and spend their winters down here.....
Notice how lacy the leaves of this Palo Verde are...He actually sat still long enough for me to get this shot.
Earlier when we were walking, I noticed a sign over by the "wikiup" where they sometimes cook ,and it said "Food....10A-2P" ...very direct and to the point. We were told when we arrived that sometimes an Indian woman who lives here cooks and sells lunch...I was hoping this was the case, so I waited until about 12:30 and walked up with money in hand. Sure enough there was a line for food. She was cooking over a mesquite wood fire..There were pots and kettles and the smell was heavenly..Here is what I saw....

This, my friends, is a Mexican Taco on Indian Bread....I brought it back to the camper and put it in the fridge...Neither Den nor I was hungry because of our big breakfast, but it may make a snack later.....
OK, I promise I won't bore you with any more sunset pictures...at least for a few days...If I took pictures of every beautiful sunset we see here, this blog would be filled every day with nothing but sunsets!....Sometimes you just have to take a picture in your mind ...even a photo never seems to do it justice...
Steaks on the grill tonight...Two thick New York Strips, potatoes in garlic pepper and olive oil, toss salad and Mexican corn...tonight's menu. I cannot wait!! More tomorrow..
Did you ever eat the food that you bought from the Indian woman? You took it home to eat later but........those steaks and potatoes you had for dinner made my mouth water.
