THE ‘HIKER’ TAKES A SHORT TRIP…I WATCHED.

Yesterday Dennis and I decided we were tired of looking at the “behind” of our HitchHiker…AND, it was definitely pointed the wrong way for leaving here.

….Time to get serious about this traveling circus and get things going in the right direction!!  McGuyver likes to take the Hiker out into the back yard and turn it around…Luckily we have a back yard like a bowling alley, so it is easily done..Well, not “easily” if MOI was doing it!!..Plus we like to do this backyard turnabout when our yard is pretty hard and dry from no rain…and it is suppose to rain this weekend, so today was the day to let the Hiker get a new view…

So here  is McGuyver, demonstrating how to do the perfect short trip turn around in your backyard…

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME UNLESS YOU OWN A FARM!!

Yesterday I had lunch with a good friend at the restaurant which is housed in our local Country Club.

The above photo was taken from the parking lot of Edgebrook Country Club..notice the tombstones just up beyond the fence…..Yep, that cemetery would be Oak Ridge Cemetery, the one where I spent a good share of my teen years.. Before they tore it down, there was a big old barn about where the fence stands and it belonged to the cemetery.  My Dad used to keep some of the equipment in it, and just beyond the barn we had a target range…Try having a target range in YOUR backyard…SWAT teams would be all over you!  Ahhhh, the good ol’ days!

I instantly loved this restaurant….and it’s spooky décor….

Our table was only a few “feet” from the greens….(sorry about that).

McGuyver is helping Pal disc plow today, so that leaves me with a few jobs… I have to go out to the Hiker and try to find a spot for our many “important” pieces of paperwork that we take with us.  McGuyver takes everything to do our taxes so he can do them online. We also have the all important BLUE NOTEBOOK BINDER, which pretty much has our life in it, not to mention extra checks, stamps,  passports.  Also, we have every instruction book from every phone, TV, appliance, piece of electronical stuff, AND every book that came with the Hiker on any possible darn thing that could break….

We used to put this stuff in one of the overhead cabinets at the rear over the recliners…That was all well and good until the door opened while we were traveling, tumbling all this paperwork out.  We didn’t realize it until we opened the slide and all of this “spilled”paperwork got caught and all balled up under the slide…It wasn’t a good day to be in near proximity of Dennis. So now, we are hoping to find a crate to fit under the bed and jam all that stuff in it….So at least it is contained!!! It’s always a learning curve when traveling…and if you think it ends…think again.

OK, this has been a fairly ho hum blog….I am still trying to recover from the Creeping Crud I acquired about a month ago…I even succeeded on sharing it with McGuyver, but it never let go of it’s grip on me yet!! Personally, I think a good dose of “traveling-omyicin” will help….See ya later…Thanks for stopping by!!!

  2. Now, if you could have got Dennis to do a few 'doughnuts' on the lawn with the fiver on that would have been waaaaaay cool:))

  3. It sure is nice to have all that room in your backyard to maneuver your 5'er around in.

I agree, a dose of 'travellin' is bound to cure all your ills.

  4. We use the same maneuver at our place except for the little ramp between the house and the out building to get to the back acre, not flat like your place. Like the header of Denny. Be safe out there, Sam & Donna.
