I got back from Indy yesterday about noon and had a fabulous time bonding with our youngest grandson. I use to think he would forget us because we don’t see him as often as the other grandkids…but he certainly remembers us!
I don’t know who learns more from Sesame Street, Mimi or Aiden…(Mimi is what he calls me). Chris had a Dr.”s appointment ( her first with her O.B. Doc), so Aiden and I held down the fort at home….Chris works 2 Fridays a month, and I just happened to be there for one, so I was left in charge of diapers, binkies, and naps on Friday. We had a great time…with just a little interference from Elmo…
I HAVE QUITE A TIME COMPETING WITH ELMO FOR AIDEN’S ATTENTION…MAYBE IF I DYED MY HAIR RED AND SHAVED MY EYEBROWS????
Aiden sure loves his Mommy and Daddy…This could be interesting when the new baby brother or sister arrives in April next year.
Daddy hits the door after work and Aiden is all over him…and…as you can see…Aiden adores his Mommy!!!! I have to be satisfied with sloppy seconds compared to them, but I don’t mind…That’s the way it should be…
Saturday was Aiden’s birthday party at the park just a walk across the street from their house…(wise move, Chris..)…Chris had hot dogs, pizza, veggies, fruit…dips, chips…and humus…(I really cannot for the life of me make myself like that stuff…I feel like I just licked a tree…)
LET THE PARTY BEGIN!
Speaking of trees (I just was, right??) , the trees in the park were beginning to change into great photo ops…and the weather was about 83 degrees….
What a great place for a birthday party for children….Keep it all at the park, and go home to a nice quiet, clean house afterward….
WHO NEEDS TO DECORATE WHEN YOU HAVE COLORS LIKE THIS APPEARING AT YOUR PARTY????
I think Chris was pretty worn out, but she handled everything fabulously, running around making sure things were as they were suppose to be….I may be prejudice, but I think she looks stunning for 14 weeks pregnant….
In the photo on the right…notice 3 suspicious little fingermarks into the corner of the cake…..Proof that you should not ask small children to wait for the candles and the singing…Someone’s gonna “go for it”…..and they DID!! (I SWEAR it was NOT ME!!!!)
After the party we went back across the street to Chris and John’s house…FYI…John had to walk..the car was too full of presents, left over cake and balloons…and one happy little 2 year old, clinging to his new school bus in his car seat….
After an afternoon at the park, Aiden needed a complete wash down…and then he got to play with his new toys….
You will notice Daddy in the background putting together some of the new treasures…By 7:30PM, Aiden was beginning to show signs of winding down…and so were Mom, Dad and Mimi….
THIS GREEN THING IS CALLED A PILLOW PET…IT HAS A SPLIT PERSONALITY..ONE MOMENT HE IS A PILLOW, AND THEN WHEN YOU ATTACH THE 2 PIECES OF VELCRO ON HIS TUMMY TO EACH OTHER..HE IS A FROG..HMMMMMM…..ACTUALLY, HAVING 2 PIECES OF VELCRO ON ANYONE’S TUMMY WOULD COME IN HANDY IF YOU NEEDED SURGERY, RIGHT?
Sunday morning we had breakfast burritos from a place that I couldn’t pronounce , and then I hit the road, drying my tears so as not to cloud my vision before I got on the Interstate…….I headed North out of Indy…. one happy, satisfied, tired Mimi….but…AIDN- MAN!!! WE SURE HAD FUN, DIDN’T WE???? SEE YOU IN NOVEMBER!!!
DO YOU THINK THIS KID WILL END UP AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY??
(CLUE….CHECK OUT HIS NEW BOOK…)
THE FAMILY TRADITION CONTINUES!!!
Aiden is certainly a cutey! :)
