I HAVE BOTH MY PAWS BACK..THANK YOU DR. BISHOP!

100_0066

This is me, after coming out of the foot Doc’s office today….

100_0063

I now have both my feet back in service…and the walker has gone to the basement (without me)!!!

I truthfully did not expect to get this much freedom today.  I fully did expect to be given a “walking” boot, with more use of the walker.  I have been a very good girl..I had not left our house AT ALL since June 2nd, and I was beginning to feel like one of Detective Heiser’s (our son-in-law) perps, only, without the ankle bracelet.  I had done my exercises , iced my heal, rolled the racket ball around with my foot (there should be some kind of game show contest using that event), and spent most of my day on my butt with my Munster boot propped up.   Apparently, I had done it right.  Doc Bishop said I could slowly start walking on it…gradually, wear my Crocs or a good athletic shoe.  This weekend I can begin riding my bike, swimming and walking around somewhat as usual..But I cannot get out and walk with Dennis the 2 miles yet…That has to wait for 3 more weeks, and then I have to start that gradually…OK…I can deal with that…and I am soooooooo happy!!

Fort Wilderness, Walt Disney World..I highly recommend it!

One of the reasons I was hoping to ditch the boot and walker was that we are entertaining this weekend.  We will have a houseful!!  Our kids will all be here to participate in the Warrior Dash in Channahon, IL.  Terrie and Tim, Kelly and Cindy, John ( not sure Chris can do this yet) will be running in it…It is “3.28 Hellish miles”, so it says…and there are 10 “obstacles” along the way, such as rope walls, mud, walking planks, running tires…The link I provided is worth looking at…and you can be sure there will be photos!!

Left, Tim with our 3 grandkids..and the ship’s captain on an inland waterway cruise in Florida.

Right photo was taken in Sarasota Florida at the rehearsal dinner for Chris and John’s wedding.

This was our view from our spot at Goose Island State Park, Fulton, Texas….

As you can see, I’m feeling like a few traveling photos today.  Yes, I realize that they jump around a lot…But that’ s just how I roll…crazy!

That is one big Oak Tree ….You used to be able to walk up to it , but it was in danger of being vandalized, so they fenced it in….How pathetic to have to put up a fence to keep people out….Baring teeth smile

We eat pretty well when we are camping…This is one of my signature breakfast dishes…fried eggs on potato, sausage and onion hash..with tomatoes…This is really good with fresh salsa on top…just sayin’.

Well, I am in such a fabulous mood…We also are looking forward to seeing Sam and Donna  on Thursday.  They are stopping for a visit on their way to Wisconsin.  Sam, Donna and Riggins will be here in our driveway over nite Thursday..I have a feeling there may be some beers and wines involved in this meeting…McGuyver and I hope to take them to The Bull Moose for supper Thursday night so Sam can get his “train fix”…Trust me, Sam,  you may change  your mind when it comes to your love affair with trains after spending a night at the Cave/BNSF RR homestead..Make sure you bring some ear plugsSmile

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR GREAT SUPPORT WHILE I WAS “EL GIMPO”

I TOTALLY FEEL THAT MY ATTITUDE HAS NOW IMPROVED RIGHT ALONG WITH MY FOOT!!

  1. Happy to hear that your feet are back in working order, or at least semi working order. At least now you are able to move around and do more, even if you can't get in your daily walks.

Enjoy your time with Sam and Donna, I am sure you will all have a blast.

  7. That's great, now you will be able to put both feet in your mouth just like a few of us other folks do from time to time out here in Blog Land. Always great to have some good old quality 'foot in mouth' company:))
