OK, so I went to the foot Doc yesterday, and after a 1 hour wait in a waiting room the size of a small animal cage, McGuyver and I finally gimped in (me as the gimper). Long story short …The Herman Munster blue boot came off: really good news. No infection…good news. Ace bandage comes off…more good news. Stitches DON’T come out…WHOA!!..Sketchy, but not BAD news. 2 band aides applied over incisions…OK with that then…THEN, the Herman Munster blue boot goes BACK on!!!! WHAT??%*#*#!!??AND, he had the nerve to say that I had to wear it at least 10 more days….
LET ME THINK THIS OVER….I AM NOW LOOKING AT 10 MORE FABULOUS DAYS OF SORE HANDS, ARMS AND SHOULDERS….NOT TO MENTION SPENDING MOST OF THE DAY SITTING ON MY “GETTING LARGER” BEHIND…
OH…HE DID SAY I COULD TAKE A SHOWER NOW…BUT DON’T GET THE FOOT WET. HA HA HA. ACTUALLY, I MANAGED TO WRAP A WALMART BAG AROUND MY FOOT, TAPE IT WITH MASKING TAPE , AND TAKE A SHOWER LAST NIGHT…I GOTTA SAY THAT BALANCING ON ONE GOOD LEG/FOOT WHILE TRYING TO WASH HAIR AND BODY IS NOT EASY! GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE SHOWER WAS EVEN HARDER…BY THE TIME I WAS DONE, THERE WAS WATER EVERYWHERE…IT LOOKED LIKE WE HAD JUST BATHED A LARGE DOG IN THAT BATHROOM…AND ONE WHO SHOOK AFTERWARDS..
Since I am back to being bored, I decided to go through some old photos…I figured some great memories would cheer me up…
What we have hear are some photos taken when we went to the Florida Keys with Chris and John….LOVED IT~
We stopped near LaBelle Florida to stay overnight at Ortona South, an Army Corps campground that was extremely nice, right where they lock through the pleasure boats into Lake Okeechobee..and not busy (only idiots like us are camping in Florida in August…)
A few shots of our campsite at Long Key State Park on the Atlantic Ocean at Long Key…..
…a few shots of our day at Key West…
What a great time we had…and both of my feet were working….
The above 3 pictures were taken the night before Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the East Coast of Florida…We hightailed it outa there at 4AM for the mainland….
I just had a thought …I think I may have posted these once before…Oh well, Dementia Donna is my nickname, as most of you already know…
Thanks for all of your good wishes for my right paw…I will try to be a good girl and do what the Doc says…yeah, right….And thanks for looking at my old memories with me…
Maybe you'll be lucky and have the boot off by the time Donna and I arrive. I 13 days. if not you can just say it it added entertainment.Just hope all is improving for your foot. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna....
ReplyDeleteAt least you shouldn't have any hurricanes to worry about in the next ten days. :) Maybe you should try a pair of crutches. That way just your pits would be the pits!
ReplyDeleteYou will be back on two feet very soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the memories of your trip to the Keys! Thanks for sharing. I don't remember seeing them before BUT hey, I could have dementia also!!
In no time you and Dennis will be on Dancing With The Stars.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend..
Ten more days? Your foot doctor is a very cruel man. Those photos of the Keys sure look nice.
ReplyDeletenice shots of Key West!..those great memories will help your foot heal quickly!!..
ReplyDeleteThat must have been quite a sight-blue boot in a wally bag in the shower!
ReplyDeleteSuzy and I both have had knee replacement surgery. Doctors told us we could shower but not get the knee area wet. Sure thing. We got all wrapped up and taped around and around. It worked, but it wasn't pleasant! But soon it will all be over. It just doesn't seem like "soon!"
