WHERE WOULD BE A GREAT PLACE TO BE TODAY??

I know, I am in Illinois, trust me, I DO know that…and that is the COLD , hard truth….I’m not dealing with it very well…suffering bouts of profanities when trying to walk in 20 degrees and winds swooping down off Lake Michigan…Where would I LOVE  to be???

…Thank you for allowing me a moment of reflection…Actually, these photos make me realize how selfish I am to feel deprived…After all, we are darn lucky to have done this traveling stuff at all, right??   So now I will SHAKE OFF THIS NEGATIVITY!!!   GET OVER IT, YOU SELFISH OLD BEAR!!..YOU WILL GET BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!

MY MIND IS NOW CHANGING FROM COLD, GRUMPY….

…..AND PRICKLY…..

….TO A MUCH MORE PLEASANT PLACE…..100_9029

I refuse to go back into my dark place (even though I AM a Cave Dweller)…I will do some projects, keep busy, bundle up in layers, face the wind head on, create some new recipes, tell a few jokes, maybe even relax and read a good book….

OK….SO MY CHOICE OF READING IS SLIGHTLY SKEWED…. A GIRL’S GOTTA HAVE A GOAL..AND KEEP THE FAITH!!

I’m just sayin’ that it is colder than a witch’s boob around here today, and I’m pretty sure McGuyver won’t care if I broil our steaks INSIDE, instead of sending him out on the deck..Out there, absolutely ANYTHING could freeze and disappear in moments…and Hey, a fire in the ‘ol brick fireplace is working for us….(I need to back up to that fire and get one going under my ass, this cold weather is making me lazy).

McGuyver gets his staples out tomorrow…Oh yeah, I’ll be posting photos, don’t worry….Hey..another excuse for a party…A “HEAD WOUND STAPLE REMOVAL” PARTY!!!!! WHO’S IN????

  1. I'm in for the party... but just be good to yourselves! I've been copying you guys lately (first with the going home... and then a nasty bump to the head, minus the staples) so when I say "be good to yourselves", I really mean... be good to us! ;) Now pass the rum! Cheers!

  2. We're in for the party, I still have the neat little tool you use in my first aid kit from my buddy who was the E.R. Doctor when Donna's head was stapled several years ago.I removed them myself at home saving a trip, couple of clicks, and then dabbed a little purple stuff on the tiny holes, and she was good as new.Didn't even pass out.Have, Denny sit down while you do it and he won't have as far to fall.Oh yeah your DIL is a nurse, forgot, I'm a nurse too, Well a Police EMT retired.Who does nursing now on the side. Rigg's is losing his jewels tomorrow, I hope I won't be remembered as the guy that took him there. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  7. I'd like to see pictures of how they remove those staples from Dennis' head! It sure doesn't sound like much fun to me.

  8. Tell Dennis I heard having stitches out is even more painful that childbirth. That oughta heat up the winter air for awhile there in Sandwich.

  9. When I first saw that warship pic I swear that I thought it was a photo taken at the front of a huge Class A!

  10. It must be the time of year. Reading everyone's blogs about all the southwestern and southeastern and southern and coastal wonders just makes it all the more obvious that I am feeling a bit snow bound! Only problem, I can't decide where I would like to be most. Hope Dennis is feeling Ok by now. Those head things are no fun.

  11. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! What the crap was I doing that I missed one of YOUR posts?? When you said McGuyver got his staples removed, I had to re-read it twice. HUH? Then I went back and read your old posts and figured out I missed all the action! Holy Crap!!! I bet that was really scary :( Jonathan's hit his head LOTS of times on the trailer hitch. One of these days, there will be a blog picture of me carrying him out of the RV park with him slung over my shoulder.

I'm glad he's ok now. Sheesh! Miss a blog post, and see what happens.

  12. Ok I know I'm new to all this but "staples" and "head" in the same post just doesn't work for me! Would it be wrong to buy a couple of hard hats for us to wear? Maybe a pink one for me and a camo one for Robert?
And as for the party, Islamorada sounds like a great meeting place!
    Hope all goes well. K
