Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Kidney Stones, OH MY!

Well, this has been quite a Winter..There have been a few roadblocks thrown our way...Den's multiple colonoscopies, my kidney stones, and a dash of angst, anxiety and panic thrown in for giggles. I actually did realize I was having some depression issues this Fall. This was complicated with health issues, which kicks up the stress levels.
I won't bore you with the details , but I had my 7mm kidney stone "blasted" last week...Now I have a meteor shower of fragments to pass, but at least they are much smaller. I also noticed my mood has improved since I had that done. I know that infections can cause mood swings, and I suspect I did have a touch of an infection after carrying that stupid stone around since last August. I am hoping to continue feeling better and by the way...LET'S GET THIS SPRING THING GOING!!
This has really not been a bad Winter..I had to quit whining, because I know for a fact it could have been a lot worse! I am managing to handle it by going through some of our travel photos..
Here are a few photos taken at Falcon State Park, Falcon Heights, TX
We took this trip January, of 2009
The birding there is amazing..and they sure weren't afraid of us!

The Javelina weren't frightened either...THEY frightened ME ! The first time they wandered into our campsite, I was sitting outside..I promptly ran inside!!
One of our favorite things we did while in the Rio Grande Valley was visit Los Ebanos, TX. This is where they have the only remaining hand pulled ferry. This ferry crosses a VERY narrow spot of the Rio Grande between Los Ebanos and Gustavos Diaz Orgaz MX.
Yep, that thar is Mexico on the other side..
The little town of Los Ebanos was named after the Ebony Trees there..Here is the huge Ebony Tree that the wire cord which carried the ferry is wrapped around...
When we were there, they were working on it, and there was a cute little store to get stuff at..I'm not sure if it is still there. This ferry operates only when the owner decides he wants to..The day we were there it was not operating..
OK, enough of my travel log..My biggest frustration is not finding any cool things to blog about here at home..I have been waiting patiently for Spring so I could watch our grandsons play in their sports..track, baseball, all that good stuff!. Two of the Heiser kids are also in the Spring Musicals this year, and the older brother is a track runner. Our two Wolff Cubs in Zionsville are in soccer, flag football, running...anything sports..So I do have that to look forward to!!
I have also been enjoying coffee with my YaYas on Tuesday mornings!
Usually there are 4 of us, but one of us (the LUCKY one) was in Florida for the Winter..GRRRRR!
OK... Hey, at least I managed to pull this off...kind of..I am not good at blogging lately, but will try to get better at it...Thanks for checking in..

  1. Glad to hear that you are feeling better! And spring is coming, so things have to be looking up! :)

    1. Thank you , Jessica..Sunshine is always helpful!

  2. I do get understand!! What we both have to do is remember that, yes, things could be a lot worse. You are going to be ok...just a bump in the road. And I'm not going through those awful treatments this winter. See we are both better than we thought!!
Your "grands" will keep you busy and how great is that!! Don't forget the wonderful friendships you have with the Ya Yas!! Just hang in there....this too shall pass ( no pun intended)😀😀

    1. Thank you, kids..I think this staying home stuff is what finally got to me..Plus medical issues..I do see the light at the end of this tunnel.

  3. I am one who understands those ups and downs as well. Mood swings, depression, blue days, etc. Throw in a few medical concerns and things can go from bad to worse pretty quick. At least the winter blah days are mostly behind you now and with Spring just around the corner a few gulps of good old Spring Tonic will go a long way.

  4. Thanks, Al and Kelly. I have always admired your "no fear" attitude of putting it all out there, the good and the bad. It helps to know that we are not alone in our depression and anxiety..Keep in touch!!

  5. Missed you this year at Ortona South, but there's always next year.
