Yep, give me just a little spare time to sit at the computer and I manage to scrape some drivel together and call it a blog. Currently, MacGyver and I are sitting on the North edge of Lake Grenada in Mississippi. The campground is called North Abutment and the sites are just great here!
We stayed here once before in November 2011 and remember how wide open the sites were…That time, we were on a site in the woods, but this year we chose a site on the lakeside.
I took the left photo the day we arrived…still cool, but no snow…Right photo is when it warmed up to 70 degrees and I left our door open..( notice the “fan club” we had watching us.)
Yep, ahem ahem, got us a naaaaace pull through spot rot on the lake…Y’all ‘d lock it heya… OK OK, VERY politically incorrect, but I LOVE listening to that deep Mississippi accent they’all have here in the deep South!
We have been here in heaven for going on 6 nights, for the great price of $10 a night…and tomorrow we pull up stakes and go about 2 1/2 hours farther South, chasing the warmth, as it were. We are staying 4 nights in Twitley Branch Army Corps campground at Collinsville, MS, another place we only pay 1/2 price to camp. We have stayed there once before…Hmmm, maybe we AREN’T chasing the warmth, but chasing the CHEAPNESS of the campgrounds…tehee. At any rate, we leave Twitley on Sunday and go to Pensacola Beach for our first full week in Florida. We were near there 2 years ago, before we prematurely got called home, so I never did get close enough to see that white sand beach…BY GOD, THIS YEAR I WILL SEE IT, DOGGONE IT!!
Got some garland up on the slide, and I’m sure it will do just that when I pull that slide in to travel…Right pic? Just in case our Santa is mini sized and missing his “fur from his head to his foot”…
I had to have a touch of “bling”, hence the glitzy bow..and …Frosty has quite the view out our back window…
I cannot remember when I have posted blogs 3 days apart, but don’t get too used to it, just in case I lose my mojo…Lord knows, that could happen most anytime at my extended years!!
Get in the GMC by 10AM tomorrow…it’s movin’ day! (Just shove the cases of Busch Lite over and jump in!)
You sound happy, enjoy the Florida beaches.
ReplyDeleteOh come on now, you can post every three days, How about some more pictures of the campgrounds you're in? And where are those 'stylish' ensembles? Is MacGyver not grilling out for you? :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the white sands but if you're looking for the warmth you will probably have to go further south.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
it's about time.
You just can't beat the COE campgrounds for beauty and cheapness!!!! We have several Casita friends that have been at Fort Pickens lately and their pics are just beautiful...the white sand awaits you ma'lady!!!!
ReplyDeletesafe travels!! can't wait to see where 'we all ' land next!
ReplyDeleteNice looking campspot and sure great to see the temps hit 70F for you. Your rig is looking more and more festive every day.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to Florida and those white sand beaches.
I like the more frequent updates! Good for you. And the pictures say, "We are loving this!" And no wonder - the weather is supposed to get better and warmer the farther south you go...
