I am sitting here at the computer attempting to compose a blog..That’s hard to do when your brain is fried…Actually, my temporary title to this blog is “yyyy”..I could NOT for the life of me come up with a name for this one. I sure hope I come up with one before I’m done, right???
I spent Fri,Sat and Sunday night with the Wolff cubs in Zionsville, IN. It was really fun to get with little kids who only understand one thing..Mimi loves us very much!….
With all of that energy, I figured it would be fun to get them outside raking leaves to surprise their Dad…The problem with this is that instead of cleared grass, we ended up with about 6 well defined paths of grass going through the leaves…much like a maze..Oh well, they tried. Realizing that these 2 rakes were like lethal weapons in the hands of my grandsons, I tried to keep them at least 6’ apart. There was one incident when Aiden stepped behind his vigorously raking little brother and got clocked in the neck with a rake handle…Thank God no runs to the ER were needed and I learned my lesson..I need to keep one at one side of the house and one at the other side!!
Their cat, Lady Di, thinks she makes the house payments and has an attitude that befits a “princess”…Dennis was unable to come with me on this trip, he was still in the combine. I did pat myself on the back when, on the first night with the Wolff Cubs, I successfully had kids in bed and asleep by 8:45PM…and all was quiet at the Wolff compound…One night down and 2 to go!!
We had a celebrity visit when Super-Aiden showed up, managing to change without a phone booth in his bedroom…I had thoughts just about this time that I wished I was Superwoman so I could actually compete with these two this weekend…Her powers might have come in handy!
How is it that young kids are soooooo darn good at building with Legos??? I can’t even make a decent house out of the darn things..The only attempt at “construction” when I was growing up was making a half assed cabin out of Lincoln Logs…and then I always had trouble putting on the roof and chimney!!!
Aiden and Maddox made a Lego village for their Mom and Dad the night they were to come home. I was told exactly what each piece was, and just shook my head “yes”, like I would remember to explain it to mom and dad when they got home…(Their flight didn’t land in Indy until 10:45PM, so I wasn’t officially “off duty” until they walked in the door at 11:25PM)
It was a really fun weekend, but I don’t mind admitting I was a little bit tired. Actually it wasn’t the kids that tired me out, it was the phone calls I kept getting about some “problems” with the elders back home….! And the 2 more I got again while on I-65 on the way home….And the continuing calls I have gotten yesterday, and today…Well, you won’t be surprised to know that things are not going smoothly in “caregiving land”, and we will be either looking for another caregiver soon, or opting for Plan C,( which we don’t have at this moment)…MacGyver and I are again facing a real quagmire with the elders and it is becoming very stressful, and I DO mean STRESSFUL!!…
To add to the mix, I got a call from my Endocrinologist saying that I don’t have just one nodule on my thyroid, I have 3…just great. This Friday is the day I get my FNA (needle biopsies), and I’m actually looking forward to it..I CAN TURN OFF MY PHONE AND NOT FEEL GUILTY!!!….All I want to do is get this fixed so we can get on the road…and we are trying to keep our heads in the game…I even put Xmas lights on the wreath we put on our Hiker ladder…It looks neat going down the road, and when we stop, I plug it in….
I sure hope this wreath gets to travel South and we aren’t forced to plug it in while the Hiker just sits on her pad this Xmas….SHEESH!! My plate is getting so full I’m gonna have to shove something (or someONE) off to the side!!
As you can see, my fried brain couldn’t come up with a title befitting this bedlam of a blog and I'm just gonna leave it EEEEEEEEE! Maybe that IS a good title after all!!…

Going back to the Pink Store tomorrow while Angela is at the dentist:) I will have one or more for you.
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!
DeleteAfter reading your blog, the title fits!! Your little guys are so adorable - love the Superman outfit. If you haven't read Rick's blog yet...check it out. He picked an ideal Christmas present for you!
ReplyDeleteIt's becoming scary how much Rick knows me!!!
DeleteAlways fun with the grandkids, but they do tend to wear you out. I feel your pain with the Elders. Your situation makes ours seem a walk in the park. You might need to do a little early Christmas shopping with Rick. He has the answer to many of life's problems.:-)
ReplyDeleteYes, the grandkids make me tired, but it's a good kind of tired...The other kind is the mental stress I don't need...I'm hanging out with Rick from now on!
DeleteLooks to me as if it is time for tough love. Thank goodness you have the grandkids to distract you a bit. Hugs to you....Have a margarita!
ReplyDeleteMacGyver is going to see them tomorrow while I am under the "needle"...A few things need to be said and straightened out.
DeleteAnd the only stress I have is a house that is not selling! Hang in there with the Elders. They may never be happy with where they are, but it is not your fault. Only they can make themselves accept the situation. Elders sometimes act like spoiled children. Love the, but don't let them get you down.
DeleteOne lesson we have learned from this..we will NEVER do this to our kids..NEVER!!
DeleteHang in there guys, this too will pass. And when it does you both will be over the Moon:))
ReplyDeleteThanks, you two...Just when you think it can't get worse, it does ;-(
