This last weekend was full of fun, family, friends and food....I am tired of cooking. We started eating Thursday and continued right through breakfast scramble yesterday morning. Taylor came in her PJ's. It was fun to have all the grandkids together. All of our kids were actually here and together on Saturday. This rarely happens, due to work schedules. Also Den's Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Jr. from Montgomery came down, his Aunt Juanita from 2 yards West stopped by, niece Leanne and hubby Tom (with dog, Maggie Mae), nephews Scott and Steve, brother-in-law Ronnie. Needless to say...quite a group! Den, Chris, John and Aiden started with "kegs and eggs" at Conveyor Eddie's about 9AM, and when they came back I joined in with Bloody Mary's....whew!! Here is Aunt Jeanette, Uncle Jr., and Aunt Neenie..ages 94,86 and 90, respectively. Quite a trio!
And here are the stragglers who remained far too long at the campfire...
This is our nephew Scott..obviously a huge Bear's fan..
....and of course the grandkids...Peyton, Taylor and Campbell..
...and here is Taylor holding Aiden...
We had a great time! So much fun..we are sooooo lucky and soooooo blessed to be able to get together. We are also very fortunate we still have some of our "elders" to remind us of what is really important.... I hope my next blog will be when we are "on the road" in our camper....IT BETTER BE SOON!!!!
Well, here we are at home in Sandwich, Ill. It has been a relatively good November after an October that sucked pond water! Dennis is helping a good friend harvest his corn and beans, which means that we don't leave until the "coffers are full". I have been a farmer widow for the past two weeks, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now...hoping for the first week of December for lift off. Keep in touch. I am posting a few photos....basically cause I am bored... Here is my absentee husband .....
...and here are my darling grandchildren....These 3 are myh oldest daughter's kids and their dog, Bogie.
This gentleman is my youngest daughter's son... I will post more when I am bored again!!
We were married 43 years last November...and they said it wouldn't last!..Dennis was born and raised in Sandwich, IL. I was born in Elgin,IL. and moved to Sandwich in 1960...our paths were meant to cross. Sandwich used to be a small farming community 60 miles Southwest of Chicago..There was only one stoplight when we were married..Now we have about 8, or more....Things have changed..too much. We have 3 kids, Kelly, our son and oldest child,
Terrie, our middle child and
daughter, and Christie, our youngest daughter. We met and
married in a matter of 6 months,
and to the surprise of some, it
has stood the test of time. We
have 5 super grandkids, 3 super
step grandkids and four super
GREAT step grandkids...so we are
We never owned a camper until 2003 (unless you count the Pop-up we won in 1972 and never used) We are on our 2nd 5th wheel and lovin' it!! Dennis is retired from Caterpillar after 30 years and I am retired from many odd jobs of which I won't bore you with..So, life is good. I am the blogger, Den provides much of the material...So climb into the GMC truck with us and ride along..Dennis and Donna Cave
