“ Sure and Beggorah, What a surprise!”

  2013-03-14 12.26.03

McGyver and I went up to Uncle Jr.’s house yesterday to take them to Physical Therapy…..When we got back, I looked out Jeanette’s kitchen window and saw huge snow flakes coming down all around….Left is the view from their kitchen window….That is the Fox River in the background…I wish we had her wonderful big kitchen windows!!!

This February (and so far March) have had some of the worst Winter weather we have seen in a few years…It sure seems to me that every time we have to come home early from our Winter RV trip, we face a pretty crappy weather pattern…January was darn nice up here, so we heard, but the minute we came home it all “went South” (like I wish we could!)…In an attempt to get my Spring game face on, I planted some herb seeds in the hopes of having a herb garden inside, even before I could have one outside…I guess I’m trying to beat Mother Nature at her own game…good luck with that, right?…

Here we have 54 little spots for plants…Parsley, Dill, Oregano, Basil, Cilantro and Chives…If I get JUST ONE  healthy plant of each,  kind I will faint.  My thumb isn’t very green…

Speaking of green, I want to wish everyone a wonderful St. Paddy’s Day, Irish or Irish wantabe, it just doesn’t matter. This is one of those “feel good” celebration days that puts a bit of the Irish Jig in everyone’s step…We had quite a surprise in store for us here at the Cave Dwellings…

Our son, Kelly, has been secretly practicing up for the last 15 months to become part of Oswego Fire Dept. Pipes and Drums group….

Turn up your volume and enjoy..Kel is the big guy on the left playing drums…

….IF THAT MUSIC DIDN’T PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE, NOTHING WILL!!

“May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.”

  1. We're full timers and don't head north until at least April because we don't want to even see a snowflake.
    Thanks for sharing your day

  2. I'm having a senior moment here...Oswego? I thought that was in Minnesota? Anyway, I love bagpipes and drums!

Who needs herbs that are plants anyway? I'd like to meet a nice Herb that can drive an RV and fix everything like McGuyver. ;)

  3. Good luck on the herbs...they sell those plants already grown at the nursery if you need pictures for the blog. No one will ever know!

  4. I just wish Kelly had chosen the bagpipes over the drums. I can only imagine what it would sound like when he started up the pipes in your basement at one of the Cave-a-paloozas!! It might have even made folks drink more!!
