“AY, NOW THERE’S THE RUB….”

OK, I have decided to share my secret (well, maybe NOT so secret) recipe for BBQ Rub….We use this for Baby Back Ribs, Pork Roasts, Chops, Pork Steaks, over our breakfast cereal…JUST KIDDING!!!, absolutely anything pork..I have also rubbed this on beef for kabobs and it is great!!

Cave’s Not So Secret BBQ Rub

1 C. brown sugar

1 C. Paprika

6 T. fresh ground pepper

3 T. Paula Dean’s House Seasoning (recipe to follow)

8 T. garlic powder

4 T. Cumin

6 T. Onion powder

1 T. celery seed

2 T. Dry mustard

1 T. Cayenne pepper

2 T.  Chili powder

Paula’s House Season:

1C. Kosher salt

1/4C. fresh ground black pepper

1/4 C. garlic powder

(MIX TOGETHER AND STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER…KEEPS FOR 6 MONTHS)..GOT THIS FROM PAULA DEEN’S WEBSITE, MAYBE SOME OF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT….I KEEP THIS ON MY COUNTER AND USE IT TO SEASON ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!

ONE MORE GREAT RECIPE WE USE ALL OF THE TIME…..

Greatest Steak Marinade of All Time!

2 cloves of garlic, pressed

2 T.Worcestershire sauce

2 T. Soy Sauce (low sodium)

2 T. Balsamic vinegar

2 T. Dijon mustard

2 T. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 T. Dry red wine

Fresh ground pepper

Combine all ingredients and marinate in zip loc bag… steak, roast…any beef…

 

OK, now that I have shared a few recipe fav’s of the Cave Dwellers, I am feeling quite creative and a little frisky…And…since I see my foot Doc this afternoon, I think I should give him a smile….

  Sorry ….I realize I just put my disgusting feet in the same blog as food recipes….I have no shame and should be flogged!!

  3. Thanks for the rub and marinade recipes, I'm going to be using both of those this summer for sure.

    Try dipping your foot into a gallon of that marinade - it'll kill it or cure it for sure!

  4. Ooo! New BBQ recipes to try. Will that stuff work on pineapple? That's the only fruit I have grilled so far.

  6. Jerry and Suzy...I'm pretty sure that rub would work on Pineapple. Keep in mind it is a little spicy, but not toooo. Let me know!
